Author of more than 35 books, Jim entered the publishing field soon after college, where he was an Edmund James Scholar at the University of Illinois. By 1980, he had served as Managing Editor for three different Chicago area publishers. In the 1980's and 1990's, he worked as a freelance writer and published about three dozen books, making numerous radio and television appearances publicizing his work. More recently, he developed several large-scale internet websites. Some of his favorite projects were books about Mark Twain, Steven Spielberg, Martin Sheen, early microcomputers, and a website about Lee Harvey Oswald.

Joining BEAR Realty as a Sales Associate in early 2002, Jim earned gross sales worth nearly three million dollars in his first full year with the company. As a member of Westosha's premier real estate team, he values the integrity established in the Paddock Lake Bear office by Butch and Glenda Dupons.
