Bear Realty of Burlington is owned and operated by Kevin P. McKillip. After graduating from Western Illinois University with a degree in Finance and an emphasis in Real Estate in 1977, Kevin immediately began his real estate career. Today, Kevin is acknowledged as the area’s foremost authority on local real estate matters.

As President of Burlington’s largest real estate company, Kevin has been involved in many Burlington real estate developments. Included in Kevin’s list of accomplishments is the renovation of one of Burlington’s oldest landmarks, the Commerce Building at 565 Milwaukee Avenue, Burlington, Wisconsin. This is the location of the Bear Realty Corporate Offices.

Kevin was instrumental in creating the Highway 83 campus which currently includes the Pine Brook Pointe Assisted Living Center and the SpringBrook Village Apartments for the elderly. Kevin has been active in creating “destination locations” for Burlington’s Historic Downtown Redevelopment and the new Burlington Riverfront Development. Kevin was the organizing developer for White River Enterprises, a group of Burlington Business leaders interested in creating a unique destination location on the Burlington Riverfront. As a partner in that group, Kevin was responsible for bringing the Charcoal Grill and Rotisserie to the former Hi-Liter Graphics location along the White River at Milwaukee Avenue and Chestnut Street.

More recently, Kevin through his real estate partnerships, developed the following new Developments in Burlington:
• Springbrook Landing Single Family Residential Community
• Springbrook Crossing Condominium Development
• Lakeview Landing Condominium Development on the shores of Browns Lake
• Fox River Landing at the Murphy Farm Home Sites
• Fox River Station Condominium Office Suites

Kevin’s knowledge of the local real estate market is unsurpassed. The Burlington Community Development Authority in the spring of 2001 accepted Kevin’s proposal to develop a new office building at the 101 N. Dodge Street location. His Queen Anne design two-story building complete with turret and spire was accepted over those of several other developers. Today this dynamic office building is fully occupied by H&R Block, Edward D. Jones Investments and the manufactured representative firm of Cargile, Kiaczeic and Associates.

Kevin is also a principal owner of Great Lakes Components, a custom component company specializing in panelized wall packages used in the rough construction of multi-family housing opportunities such as apartments, condominiums and assisted living facilities as well as custom homes. As a recognized voice of authority of Southeastern Wisconsin Real Estate, Kevin is involved in industry activities on a local, state and national level.

Kevin is a member of the WRA's Realtor Political Action Committee (RPAC), State Board of Trustees and also serves on the WRA's Public Policy Committee, which helps shape legislative agendas in Madison affecting homeownership and private property rights in the state of Wisconsin. Kevin has been the driving force that has moved Bear Realty of Burlington from a one man/one room real estate company to the area’s undisputed leader in real estate sales and development.
